Job description

This Dubai based role is responsible for driving accurate cost control, financial reporting, and budgeting activities across the organisation. The position plays a key part in ensuring cost efficiency, financial discipline, and operational alignment with business goals. The Cost Controller will work closely with production, sales, and finance to support informed decision making.

Description
  • Develop and maintain cost control systems to ensure reliable cost tracking across operations
  • Monitor expenditures, budget usage and forecasts, ensuring alignment with approved financial plans
  • Prepare detailed cost reports and analysis for management, highlighting variances and areas requiring corrective action
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams during the annual budgeting cycle to ensure accurate and realistic cost planning
  • Track actual performance against budget and provide visibility to management on key cost drivers
  • Analyse historical data to prepare cost forecasts and identify risks related to cost overruns or inefficiencies
  • Review supplier and vendor contracts to ensure pricing compliance and value for money
  • Monitor invoices, payments and related documentation to prevent overcharging and ensure accuracy
  • Ensure adherence to internal policies, financial regulations and local compliance requirements
  • Recommend improvements to cost control processes, reporting methodologies and overall financial efficiency
  • Work closely with production and sales teams to understand cost structures and support margin improvement initiatives
  • Support senior leadership by providing reliable cost insights to guide strategic decisions
  • Maintain effective communication with internal stakeholders to ensure transparency around cost performance
  • Ensure all reporting follows relevant accounting standards and internal guidelines
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across finance and operational departments
Profile
  • Professional qualification in accounting or finance (CA, ACCA, CMA or equivalent)
  • Minimum of 5 to 7 years finance or cost control experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment
  • Experience working in the UAE is preferred, and candidates currently based in the UAE will be prioritised, although relocation can be considered if the candidate meets the criteria
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data, budget performance and cost trends
  • Solid understanding of IFRS and financial reporting standards
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments
  • Ability to prepare clear cost reports, forecasts and recommendations
  • Strong commercial awareness and attention to accuracy in all financial processes
