Role Overview

The Commercial Planner owns demand inventory and financial planning across Mumzworlds category landscape to drive revenue growth margin delivery and inventory efficiency. The role combines forecasting inventory controls and performance analysis to enable data-driven commercial decisions in a fast-paced e-commerce or omni-channel retail environment.

This role partners closely with Category Operations Finance and Marketing teams to ensure plans are aligned scalable and executable.

Key Responsibilities
Planning Ownership & Financial Alignment
  • Own sales gross margin and inventory plans across daily weekly and monthly horizons in line with category and business budgets.

  • Drive category-level financial planning by aligning demand forecasts with revenue targets margin delivery and inventory investment while managing inventory budgets and stock allocation to balance availability inventory efficiency and working capital objectives.

Demand Forecasting & Planning Cadence
  • Develop and maintain demand forecasts using historical sales seasonality trend analysis and business inputs.

  • Reforecast on a regular cadence based on performance trends marketing activity promotions and changes in demand signals working closely with Buying and Category teams to validate assumptions challenge inputs and proactively adjust plans.

Inventory Controls Replenishment & Health
  • Define monitor and optimize reorder points (ROP) at SKU and category level based on demand patterns lead times and service-level targets.

  • Ensure timely replenishment to minimize stockouts while avoiding overstock and excess inventory and collaborate with Supply Chain and Operations teams to align replenishment logic with supplier lead times and inbound capacity.

Business Performance & Commercial Signals
  • Monitor and analyze core commercial and inventory signals at regional category and brand level including GMV gross margin inventory turns sell-through weeks of cover stock availability ageing and excess inventory.

  • Identify risks and opportunities early and recommend data-backed actions to improve performance inventory efficiency and overall commercial outcomes.

Campaign Planning Pricing & Event Readiness
  • Build and support campaign and event plans with clear demand inventory and go-to-market strategies across promotions launches and seasonal peaks.

  • Partner on pricing and promotion planning with a strong understanding of markdown mechanics and margin impact ensuring inventory readiness for high-traffic and high-impact periods.

Stakeholder Management Reporting & Insights
  • Present business performance risks and opportunities to Buying and Leadership teams in regular review forums.

  • Build strong cross-functional partnerships with Buying Supply Chain Finance and Marketing produce clear and structured reporting using advanced Excel and BI tools and translate insights into actionable recommendations that inform senior decision-making.

Qualifications & Experience
Education
  • Bachelors degree in Business Commerce Supply Chain Engineering or a related field.

Experience
  • 2 years of experience in commercial planning merchandise planning inventory planning or demand planning within e-commerce or omni-channel retail.

  • Experience operating in high-SKU fast-moving categories preferred.

Skills & Competencies
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a commercial mindset.

  • Advanced Excel skills; ability to work confidently with large datasets.

  • Experience with planning ERP or BI tools; familiarity with demand and inventory planning systems preferred.

  • Solid understanding of inventory dynamics forecasting and margin impact.

  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

  • Comfortable operating in fast-paced data-driven environments.
