As a CNC Operator, you will play a key role in producing high-quality components for the automotive and engineering sectors, ensuring operational efficiency, accuracy, and safety at every stage.
Key Responsibilities – CNC Machine Operation & Manufacturing Precision
- Set up, operate, and monitor CNC machines to produce components to exacting specifications, maintaining the highest standards of quality and consistency.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical diagrams to define machining requirements and part dimensions.
- Perform routine maintenance and safety checks on CNC machinery and equipment, ensuring safe work practices are always followed.
- Inspect and measure finished parts using precision measuring tools, recording and reporting deviations from specifications where necessary.
- Adjust machine settings, tooling, and offsets as required to optimise production output and achieve engineering tolerances.
Required Skills – CNC Machining, Manufacturing & Engineering
- Previous experience operating CNC machines within manufacturing, engineering, or automotive environments is highly advantageous.
- Strong understanding of technical drawings, geometric tolerances, and machining principles.
- Competence in using measuring tools such as callipers, micrometers, and gauges for part inspection.
- Ability to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve routine machine and process issues independently.
- Basic knowledge of machine programming (e.g., G-code) or willingness to learn.
- Excellent attention to detail, with a commitment to maintaining a clean and organised work area.
- Effective communication skills for working in a team-based environment.
Qualifications & Experience – CNC Operator Role
- Relevant vocational qualification (e.g., NVQ, City & Guilds, BTEC) in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field preferred.
- Experience working with CNC lathes, mills, or multi-axis machines is an advantage.
- Strong record of safe working practices and adherence to workplace health and safety standards.
