Job description
Key Responsibilities
  • Generate conceptual layouts designs and process schemes for wastewater treatment plants.
  • Perform process design calculations and analyses for physical, chemical and biological treatment systems.
  • Design sludge treatment systems (thickening, digestion, dewatering) and odour control systems.
  • Develop wastewater treatment process models using BioWin (or equivalent).
  • Complete hydraulic calculations including pump sizing and yard piping hydraulics.
  • Prepare basis of design documents, technical reports and construction specifications.
  • Perform Hazardous Area Classification for electrical and mechanical equipment in treatment facilities.
  • Participate in HAZOP and CHAZOP studies to identify and mitigate process and control hazards.
Site & Construction Support
  • Observe and document site conditions including photologs.
Vendor & Equipment Coordination
  • Communicate with manufacturers and suppliers to determine equipment selections.
Project Management Support
  • Work with the Team Leaders to develop proposals, scopes of work, project work plans, budgets, schedules and safe work plans.
  • Participate in client meetings, technical reviews and progress reporting.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental, Chemical or Process Engineering.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in wastewater treatment process engineering.
  • Expertise in process modeling (BioWin), hydraulic design and biological treatment technologies.
  • Strong understanding of pumping systems, yard piping hydraulics and construction specifications.
  • Familiarity with Middle East/GCC standards and reuse regulations (preferred).
