Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Civil Engineer to work on stormwater and drainage projects. The role involves client interactions, preparing reports, and conducting technical studies. Ideal candidates will hold a degree in Civil Engineering with a minimum of four years of experience in related projects. A background in SWS Infrastructure projects is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum of four years of work experience.
  • Experience in miscellaneous Drainage Work Projects.
  • Experience in SWS Infrastructure project is an advantage.

Job Description

The role involves working on projects associated with Stormwater & Drainage, Flood Alleviation, Wastewater Networks and Water distribution networks Pumping Station, Recycling Plant. This will involve undertaking investigations, planning, designing, tendering, contract administration and construction supervising & monitoring. The role will be based in Abu Dhabi.

Key Accountabilities
  • Technical Delivery:
    • Interacting with clients and contractor staff to determine and verify project requirements.
    • Preparing inspection reports and site records.
    • Performing civil and structural tests.
    • Providing general inspection on all construction labor and subcontracted tasks to ensure professional workmanship.
    • Identifying non-conforming works, generating reports and corrective actions, and coordinating responses.
    • Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
  • Collaboration and working as part of a team.
    • Work in conjunction with engineers to solve project design problems, support to performing basic design calculations as required.
    • Conduct technical, feasibility studies and site investigations.
    • Liaison with teams working remotely from other parts of the world to facilitate completion of tasks, and project.
    • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
    • Experienced in the survey work with modern instruments and in keeping site measurement records.
  • Client Service Management
    • Internal and external client liaison.
    • Ability to build and maintain lasting and positive relationships.
    • Experience in utility diversions and management.
  • Follow safe work practices and adhere to company guidelines and policies for planning and executing work in a safe manner.
  • Complete all work in line with Stantec Core Values and in accordance with the Stantec Quality Systems and Project Quality Procedures.
  • Design for safety, i.e., Construction Design Management.
  • Other duties as requested from time to time by the Assistant Resident Engineer.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent degree in Engineering from a recognized institute to the approval of the Engineer.
  • Having four (4) years of work experience.
  • Experience in miscellaneous Drainage Work Projects.
  • Experience in SWS Infrastructure project is advantage.
