Job summary

A procurement and supply institute is seeking a candidate to manage Category P&L responsibilities and drive business objectives. The role includes defining Category strategies, analyzing sales trends, and fostering strong relationships with vendors. Job Description
  • You will be responsible for P&L for the Category and assume end to end ownership to drive Category business objectives.
  • You will define and execute the Category strategy including Range, Supplier empanelment criteria, sourcing model, Commercial arrangements and Curation guidelines.
  • You will work with buying curators to determine the assortment based on market trends & customer needs driven through data analysis and ensure overall product range & assortment is in line with overall buying strategy.
  • You will analyze sales trends and product life cycles, use data to identify and prioritize opportunities.
  • You will work closely with sellers/vendors and develop "win-win" relationships - by ensuring availability of relevant, fashionable and quality merchandise.
  • You will work closely with Vendor Onboarding teams to identify and shortlist sellers on the platform - to help identify strategic sellers and expand our product selection and availability.
  • You will define the cataloging guidelines and work closely with cataloging and seller teams to ensure compliance.
  • You will interface with SCM team to plan inward and outward capacities - depending on business growth.
  • You will collaborate with Sales Planning and to propose and finalize suitable promotion strategies while continually monitoring competitor efforts.
  • You will work closely with strategic sellers and provide them relevant inputs to improve sales velocity - including markdown suggestions, promotions etc.
  • You will work with Storefront team to enhance visibility for the Category and its brands with right content and promotional properties.
  • You will ensure timely demand forecasting and revenue projections and collaborate seamlessly between category, Sales Planning & Pricing teams.
  • You will create business plans for new opportunities and develop and execute project plans for the launch of new features, incorporating merchandising and Pricing strategies.
Qualifications
  1. Candidates with fashion (men's category preferable) experience preferred
  2. Ideally post grad (MBA) with good analytical background.
