Job summary

A leading financial services provider in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Portfolio Manager to oversee their Covered Card Portfolio. This role involves developing and executing portfolio strategies, conducting performance analysis, and managing the lifecycle of banking products. The ideal candidate has strong business management skills and experience in the financial sector, particularly in the UAE card business, and a Bachelor's Degree. Knowledge of Sharia-compliant products is a plus.

Role Purpose: Manage Covered Card Portfolio to drive business performance and to ensure operations within approved parameters.

Key Accountabilities of the role
  • Develop and execute Portfolio management strategies to drive increase in ENR and revenue across all card products.
  • Conduct regular portfolio performance analysis across the card portfolio to identify profitable products and segments. Make recommendations on portfolio action steps as necessary.
  • Regularly monitor portfolio KPIs market / competitive data to identify gaps and opportunities for further strategy formulation.
  • Support in all customer life cycle management activities including activation retention spend growth and balance building.
  • Effectively and successfully manage promotional aspects of new product development throughout the product lifecycle in order to meet or exceed sales and revenue goals including value proposition seasonal promotions card design pricing etc.
  • Design execute & fulfilment of portfolio related campaigns. Liaise with all stakeholders to ensure timely execution of campaigns in line with business objectives.
  • Publish monthly business review decks for performance review.
  • Identify and analyze trends that could affect the risk and performance of the portfolio and suggest actions therein.
  • Conduct ad-hoc analysis as in when required.
  • Periodic reviews to ensure adherence to Credit Policies risk criteria as established in the credit program.
  • Support and maintain key relationship with all key Stakeholders. Ensure team spirit and culture of shared ownership.
  • Effectively manage the team by giving regular feedback and guidance required with an open communication culture.
Specialist Skills / Technical Knowledge Required for this role
  • Bachelors Degree
  • Strong business management skill and ability to manage a business line/portfolio.
  • Highly numerical & detailed oriented
  • Knowledge of banking products
  • Process management skills to ensure an effective & efficient credit process
  • Experience of working in the Financial sector in UAE catering to Cards Business
  • Experience in other markets will be an added advantage

Knowledge of Islamic / Sharia compliant banking products / practices preferable
