Role Overview

As a Cabinet Design Engineer you will be responsible for designing systems and hardware in compliance with the applicable engineering standards and customer specifications. We are seeking an experienced Cabinet Engineer with strong expertise in electrical control cabinet and panel design for industrial automation projects within manufacturing environments. The successful candidate will manage the full lifecycle of the electrical control cabinets, from concept and design through FAT and site support, while working closely with cross‑functional teams and external vendors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Understanding of the electrical engineering concepts necessary for designing the electrical cabinet.
  • Designing and developing control panels and electrical cabinets for industrial automation systems.
  • Performing component selection (power supplies, circuit breakers, relays, terminals, cables, etc.) in compliance with industry and customer requirements and basic IEC standards.
  • Applying correct earthing/grounding concepts and cabling practices in line with industry and customer requirements and basic IEC standards guidelines.
  • Preparing electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, layout drawings, panel GA drawings, and ordering drawings.
  • Following quality procedures and standard design processes to ensure defect‑free designs in a timely manner.
  • Incorporating new design techniques to increase the efficiency of Cabinet Engineering.
Full Cabinet Lifecycle
  • Concept and detailed design.
  • Bill of Materials (BOM) preparation.
  • Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) support.
  • Installation support as required.
Vendor Coordination
  • Coordinating with vendors and suppliers for technical clarifications, component approvals, and documentation.
  • Interfacing directly with clients to address technical queries and design clarifications.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
  • Project engineers, manufacturing engineers, and project managers.
  • Preparing and maintaining technical documentation, reports, and design records.
  • Handling multiple projects simultaneously while meeting quality, cost, and schedule requirements.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical, instrumentation, electronics engineering, or equivalent.
  • Minimum five years of relevant industry experience, including hardware engineering for automation and electrical control panels.
  • Strong experience in cabinet and panel design for industrial applications.
  • Solid knowledge of component selection, earthing and grounding practices, and cabling and wiring per IEC general guidelines.
  • Experience using CAD, Eplan, MicroStation software to create, revise, and review project drawings (system interconnect, power wiring, layout, loop drawings, blocks, etc.).
  • Experience supporting FAT activities and interacting with inspectors or end clients.
  • Ability and willingness to travel for site surveys.
Desired Qualifications
  • Knowledge of turbo‑rotary equipment control, protection, and operation.
  • Knowledge of Cordant Industry Solutions (legacy Bently Nevada machinery protection and management systems) products and services.
  • Five or more years of field projects or maintenance experience in energy and/or oil & gas environments or relevant fields.
  • Prior experience following quality assurance processes while working in a projects‑schedule‑driven environment.
  • li>Proficiency in Word and Excel.
  • Prior exposure to oil & gas or manufacturing projects.
