ORGANISATIONAL CONTEXT

Global hunger has reached alarming levels in 2022. WFP, the Nobel Peace Prize winner in 2020, remains dedicated and committed to addressing this global food crisis. The Supplier Relationship Management unit of the GCC WFP Office based in Dubai will involve understanding WFP’s current and future needs for food and non‑food items, delivering a range of supplier engagement activities, conducting GCC market research and analysis, and effectively prioritising supplier relationship management tasks.

Salary: Starting from AED 14403.45 per month (inclusive of pension) plus medical insurance and other entitlements.

Duty station: Dubai, UAE

Duration of Employment: 12 months with possibility of extension

This position is open for UAE nationals and/or those holding a valid UAE residency visa.

THE ROLE

To deliver a wide range of business support processes and activities for a specific professional area of work to facilitate effective service delivery.

Under the supervision of the Head of Communications, the incumbent will have the following responsibilities:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (not all inclusive nor exhaustive)
  1. Collect, sort and disseminate correspondence, reports and other material to meet the required demands of staff to time standards.
  2. Respond to routine queries received and, where appropriate, elevate them to provide a timely and accurate service to clients.
  3. Proofread written documents such as standard reports and correspondence to contribute to the accuracy of written information developed by staff.
  4. Provide a set of standard business support activities where required to contribute to the effective functioning of business operations.
  5. Make travel arrangements and support events etc. to enable staff to work effectively.
  6. Support the maintenance of office files, documents and records in accordance with established systems and processes so that information is current and readily available for staff.
  7. Undertake standard data entry tasks in accordance with defined systems to ensure information is organised and readily available for the business team.
OTHER POST REQUIREMENTS (details to be determined by Post Managers)
  • Support the social media accounts of WFP in the GCC and senior management of the WFP UAE Office creating a strong online presence.
  • Assist in utilizing various communication channels to increase the visibility for GCC donors.
  • Assist in content calendar to position WFP as the humanitarian partner of choice.
  • Engage with the online community and respond to queries in a timely manner by liaising with the Communications Head of Unit.
  • Support in highlighting the unique aspects of the Global Supply Chain Support Centre, the UNHRD and Partnerships in UAE through visuals, visibility events and other media showing how the presence supports the WFP operations worldwide.
STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Education: Completion of secondary school education.

Experience: Three or more years of experience in general administrative work, communications or social media.

Language: Fluency in both English and Arabic.
