Job Summary
Bit Operators is expected to multitask various range of bit manufacturing processes, including but not limited to, bit grinding, blasting, assembly, and packaging.
Some manual grinding expertise may be required, such as hole sizing operation and completion of hot work using oxy/acetylene equipment.
Experienced in manufacturing products and components to specifications and print using variety of equipment.
Responsibilities
- Experienced with handheld grinding tools and being attentive for details.
- Make manual adjustments by grinding or drilling power and pneumatic tools.
- Assembling components to an engineering drawing and set procedures.
- Make setups and adjustments to assure proper alignment of parts.
- Lift, position, and secure work piece as needed to turn or balance.
- Ensure his set-ups are approved by a senior operator or his Supervisor before he continues with his production welding.
- Perform Operator Level Machine Maintenance.
- Perform daily cleaning of his assigned area.
- Adherence to NOV regulations and all QHSE requirements.
- Flexibility to move to other operations and/or shifts or weekends as required.

Educational Qualification and Experience
- Diploma in mechanical engineering or Vocational training with 2 years of experience or desirable work experience.
- Previous operating experience in production processes or light/heavy fabrication environment would be advantageous.
- Cable to demonstrate your ability to read and understand manufacturing drawings and schematics as well as production shop practices and procedures.
- Experience manual grinding operations.
