Job description
Preparation and Distribution of ATFM Daily Plans (ADP)
  • Perform the ADPs, considering capacity, demand, and operational constraints.
  • Analyze traffic demand and optimize airspace utilization.
  • Ensure timely updates and communication of changes to all stakeholders.
  • Monitor METARs, TAFs, & NOTAMs.
Management of Airspace Reservation System (ARS)
  • Observe and maintain the airspace reservation system to allocate airspace efficiently.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders, including military and civil aviation, to manage airspace priorities and usage.
  • Monitor adherence to reservations and adjust allocations as needed.
Hosting and Participation in ATFM Daily Teleconference Calls
  • Participate in daily ATFM teleconferences to review traffic flow, airspace constraints, and operational priorities.
  • Collaborate with air traffic control supervisors, airport operators, airlines, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on planned measures.
  • Provide input and recommendations on demand-capacity balancing strategies.
  • Managing the establishment of activation/deactivation of regional zones in the events of adverse weather, political tension, and traffic congestion.
Management and Updates of the UAE Airspace Coordination and Contingency Cell (UACACC)
  • Monitor and manage the operations of the UACACC, ensuring readiness to handle disruptions and contingency situations.
  • Update and maintain contingency plans for air traffic flow during adverse conditions or emergencies.
  • Coordinate cross-border ATFM measures with neighbouring ANSPs to ensure seamless operations.
  • Update availability of parking stands in UAE airports to be utilized during weather events.
Real-Time ATFM Operations & Post-Operations Analysis
  • Monitor demand and capacity data to implement real-time ATFM measures, such as ground delays, rerouting, or flow restrictions.
  • Use ATFM tools and systems to analyze and manage traffic flow dynamically.
  • Conduct post-operational reviews to assess the effectiveness of ATFM measures.
  • Identify trends, challenges, and areas for improvement to enhance future operations.
  • Prepare detailed reports and recommendations based on operational data.
Stakeholder Communication, Coordination, & Collaborative Decision-Making (CDM)
  • Engage with airports, airlines, military, and regulatory bodies to ensure effective implementation of ATFM measures.
  • Foster collaboration among stakeholders to address demand-capacity challenges proactively.
  • Effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders by preparing emails, memos, letters, faxes, etc.
  • Ability to draft letters, correspondence, and related ATFM reports.
Training and Knowledge Sharing
  • Stay updated on industry best practices, tools, and technologies.
  • Participate in or facilitate training sessions to build internal and external ATFM capabilities.
  • Provide feedback for improvement.
  • Undergo testing, real‑time and fast‑time simulation to support ANS management decision‑making methodology by balancing demand and capacity of the Emirates FIR.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
  • ATC license holder or equivalent from a recognized ANSP with 5‑7 years of experience.
  • Experience in ATC operations, with a solid understanding of ATC procedures, airspace structures, and capacity management principles.
  • Knowledge of ATFM concepts, including demand‑capacity balancing, contingency planning, and CDM.
  • Familiarity with ATFM tools, systems, and processes, with the ability to analyze and implement traffic flow solutions.
  • Proven ability to coordinate effectively with air traffic supervisors, airports, airlines, and other stakeholders.
  • Experience in handling tactical and strategic decision‑making in a high‑pressure operational environment.
