Job Purpose
The Assistant Relationship Manager will support Relationship Managers and Business Heads in managing a portfolio of corporate clients by assisting with credit analysis, portfolio monitoring, client servicing, and regulatory compliance. Contribute to business development efforts by identifying opportunities to cross-sell banking products and ensure all activities adhere to internal policies and external regulations. Play a key role in delivering a seamless corporate banking experience and supporting the growth of client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Relationship Managers in managing and expanding the corporate client portfolio.
- Prepare client proposals, presentations, and pitch materials.
- Maintain regular client contact, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and proactive service.
- Identify cross-selling opportunities for trade finance, treasury, cash management, and other banking solutions.
- Conduct comprehensive financial analysis and credit assessment for both new and existing clients.
- Prepare and submit credit applications, memos, and renewal proposals in line with bank policies.
- Monitor client accounts, financial performance, and market trends to identify risks early.
- Ensure strict compliance with the bank’s credit, operational, and regulatory requirements.
- Support the daily management of client accounts, including documentation, disbursements, and operational queries.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders (Credit, Legal, Operations, Treasury, Trade Finance, etc.) to facilitate efficient transactions.
- Track portfolio performance, monitor overdue accounts, and ensure covenant compliance.
- Prepare periodic management reports on portfolio quality and business performance.
- Uphold internal controls, risk frameworks, and comply with AML/KYC standards.
- Maintain complete and accurate documentation as per regulatory requirements.
- Assist with internal and external audit processes.
Key Skills, Qualifications & Experience
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field (MBA or equivalent preferred).
Experience
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in relationship management roles with banks or financial institutions - corporate / business banking experience is a must.
