Department of Biomedical Sciences, School of Infection Inflammation and Immunology, College of Medicine and Health, University of Birmingham Dubai. As an Assistant Professor in Biomedical Science you will join a vibrant team of academic staff and contribute to the management, development and delivery of the BSc Biomedical Science and Foundation programme on our Dubai campus. Through teaching you will inspire students, be informed by discipline-based research, and contribute to leadership, management and administration of the programme in Dubai. Candidates should have extensive teaching experience at undergraduate level in the Biomedical Sciences and can teach and assess across a wide range of biomedical disciplines, with experience in teaching human physiology considered advantageous.
You will contribute to a range of educational activities including small group teaching, lectures and practical classes, and you will adopt innovative teaching methods. You will demonstrate academic citizenship, develop strong working relationships with staff and students, and ensure your activities positively influence others. Teaching is likely to include substantial contribution to teaching management and delivery of assessment at all levels, in collaboration with Biomedical Science module leads at Edgbaston and the Birmingham International Academy. You will engage in student recruitment and widening participation/outreach activities and support student development.
You will work closely with the Head of CMH Subject Group, Head of the Department of Biomedical Sciences, the Head of Education for the School and Programme Directors for the BSc and MSci in Biomedical Science (Dubai and Edgbaston).
