Assistant Procurement Manager

Reports To: Head of Operations
Salary Range: AED 9,500 – 10,500 (based on experience)
Role Overview
We are seeking a capable and detail-oriented Assistant Procurement Manager to support procurement operations across construction and development projects. This role is ideal for a procurement professional who is strong in execution and coordination and is ready to grow into a full Procurement Manager role through structured exposure and mentorship.
The successful candidate will manage RFQs, supplier coordination, purchase orders, and cost comparisons, while gradually developing negotiation, contract, and strategic sourcing skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and issue RFQs in coordination with Engineering, QS, and Site teams
- Collect, analyse, and prepare price comparison sheets
- Assist in supplier evaluation based on price, quality, delivery, and compliance
- Create and manage Purchase Orders (POs) in line with approvals and budgets
- Track order status, deliveries, and material lead times
- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure on-time and correct deliveries
Vendor & Documentation Management
- Maintain an organised supplier database (pricing, contacts, performance history)
- Ensure all procurement documentation is complete:
- Quotations
- Approvals
- Delivery notes
- Invoices
- Support vendor onboarding and compliance documentation
Cost Control & Reporting
- Support cost control by identifying price variances and savings opportunities
- Assist in monitoring procurement budgets against actual spend
- Prepare weekly procurement status reports for management
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Work closely with:
- QS for BOQs and quantities
- Engineers for technical specifications
- Site teams for delivery schedules
- Finance for invoice matching and payment follow-up
Growth & Development (Key Part of the Role)
- Learn and progressively participate in:
- Supplier negotiations
- Long-term vendor agreements
- Procurement planning and forecasting
- Prepare to take ownership of procurement packages as part of a structured promotion path
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in: Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Supply Chain / Procurement, or related field
- Experience:
- 3–5 years experience in procurement within: Construction, Real estate development, Engineering or contracting companies
- Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of:
- RFQ and PO processes
- Construction materials and services
- Basic BOQs and specifications
- Proficient in:
- Excel (comparatives, tracking, reports)
- ERP or procurement systems (preferred but not mandatory)
- Soft Skills:
- Highly organised and detail-oriented
- Strong follow-up and coordination skills
- Commercially aware with willingness to learn negotiation
- Professional communication with suppliers and internal teams
- Ambitious and growth-oriented mindset
