Job Purpose:
The Assistant Operations Manager (LC) oversees the day‑to‑day operations of the laundry facility, ensuring all processes meet required standards for quality, efficiency, and safety. The role includes supervising operational teams, optimising production schedules, and maintaining strong relationships with customers and suppliers. The Assistant Operations Manager also drives continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production performance and customer satisfaction.
Key Result Areas:
- Review and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure compliance with corporate safety policies, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations—supporting a robust and cost‑effective laundering value chain.
- Conduct on‑the‑job training, employee orientation, and probation management to ensure staff competency and alignment with SOPs.
- Monitor team performance, manage misconduct or poor performance, and utilise evaluation outcomes to support accurate staff appraisals and improved effectiveness.
- Lead, coach, and develop Line Supervisors/Team Leaders to manage production activities efficiently, meet daily targets, and enhance team engagement.
- Oversee production processes to ensure operational efficiency, adherence to SOPs, and consistent quality standards across all laundering functions.
- Assist in preparing and managing the production budget, ensuring optimal resource allocation and manpower cost control.
- Identify operational inefficiencies and implement corrective actions to achieve performance enhancements and cost optimisation.
- Analyse production, maintenance, and malfunction reports to provide actionable recommendations for improving operational performance.
- Work closely with the Operations Manager to address customer concerns, manage non‑conformance reports (NCRs), and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Liaise with chemical suppliers to ensure timely deliveries, maintain adequate stock levels, update washing programs, and track submission of service reports.
Knowledge, Skills & Minimum Experience:
Education Qualification:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Operations Management or a related field
- Certification in Laundry Operations or related development programs (preferred)
Work Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience within the laundry, manufacturing, or related industry

- Strong leadership and team‑management capabilities
- Proficiency in data analysis, reporting, and process‑improvement methodologies
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with customers, staff, and leadership
