Job summary

A financial institution in the United Arab Emirates is seeking an experienced accountant to assist in preparation and consolidation of financial statements in line with IFRS. The ideal candidate should have a bachelor’s degree in accounting and 2-4 years of relevant experience. Proficiency in MS Excel and knowledge of accounting systems like Flexcube and Oracle EPR are essential. This role involves liaising with external auditors and maintaining important documents for various branches.

Job description
Overview
  1. Assist in preparation, collection and consolidation of data for all Mashreq Bank entities so as to produce timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, half yearly and annual Financial Statements in line with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  2. Assist in maintenance of General Ledger (GL) systems (Flexcube & Oracle) across all legal entities in terms of new GL set up, changing existing accounts.
  3. Assist for Head Office accounting functions including maintenance of all accounting records pertaining to Head Office branch and related arrangements & recording of income from other sources etc.
  4. Assisting to prepare & provide information to external auditors.
Responsibilities
  1. Assist in monthly consolidated group financial statements including quarterly / reviewed financials and annual financials prepared as per International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  2. Liaison with external auditor for Quarterly & Annual Financials for MB Group, representation letter, publication & printing of Group Annual Report.
  3. Arrange to open set up of new GL Accounts in Flexcube and OGL in UAE and Overseas Branches.
  4. Assist in other functions viz., Voucher posting, auditors’ letter to Management and prepare/update SOPs/flow chart for existing and new functions as and when changes are made.
  5. Review audit engagement letters and invoices for correctness and arrange this to be signed.
  6. Maintain Safe Custody of important documents related to UAE & subsidiaries.
Qualifications

The incumbent should possess bachelor’s degree in accounting with 2-4 years of work experience in the field of Accounting having reasonable knowledge of various products being offered.

Proficiency in computer application tool like MS Excel (vlookup, pivots etc.) and MS word is required.

Knowledge of Accounting systems like Core banking Flexcube, Oracle EPR would also be required
