Job Summary
We are looking for a detailed-oriented and ambitious Junior Accountant to join our growing Finance team. This role is ideal for a candidate with a strong academic background in accounting (CA Trainee / Inter CA / ACCA) who is eager to launch their career in a fast-paced real estate environment.
The Junior Accountant will support the Finance Department by managing daily accounting tasks, maintaining financial records, and assisting with month-end closings. You will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy of our financial data and compliance with UAE VAT regulations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Daily Accounting Operations
- Accounts Payable: Process vendor invoices, verify approvals, and prepare payments for suppliers and service providers.
- Accounts Receivable: Track incoming payments from tenants and buyers; issue receipts and invoices promptly.
- Cheque Management: Handle the recording and custody of Post-Dated Cheques (PDCs) for rent and property sales—a critical function in our real estate operations.
- Petty Cash: Maintain and reconcile the petty cash fund, ensuring all expenses are properly documented and authorized.
- Data Entry: Accurately record financial transactions in our accounting software (Experience with Zoho Books is a plus).
2. Reconciliations & Banking
- Perform daily and weekly bank reconciliations to ensure company records match bank statements.
- Reconcile landlord and tenant ledgers to ensure accurate balances.
- Assist in investigating and resolving any discrepancies in financial records.
3. Reporting & Compliance
- Assist in the preparation of VAT returns and ensure compliance with UAE tax regulations.
- Support the Senior Accountant during Month-End and Year-End closing processes.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports, trial balances, and balance sheet schedules.
- Help coordinate with external auditors by providing necessary documentation and schedules.
4. Administrative Support
- Maintain an organized digital and physical filing system for all financial documents, contracts, and vouchers.
- Assist the Finance Manager with ad-hoc projects and administrative tasks as required.
Requirements
Education & Certification
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce (B.Com / BBA).
- Mandatory: Must be a CA Trainee, hold an Inter CA certificate, or be part-qualified in ACCA/CMA.
Experience
- 0 to 2 years of experience in an accounting role.
- Fresh graduates with strong internship experience or completed articleship are encouraged to apply.
- Previous experience in the Real Estate or Property Management sector is a distinct advantage.
Skills & Competencies
- Technical Proficiency: Strong command of Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) is essential. Familiarity with accounting software (Zoho Books, Tally, or QuickBooks) is highly preferred.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to spot numerical errors and ensure high accuracy in data entry.
- Communication: Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Integrity: High level of confidentiality and professional integrity.
- Adaptability: Willingness to learn and adapt to new software and processes in a dynamic business environment.
