Job description

The Architectural Engineer is responsible for the smooth execution of construction projects by managing technical drawings, material submittals, approvals, and project documentation. This role will coordinate with multiple teams to prevent delays, resolve design conflicts, and optimize project outcomes to achieve timely and successful project completion.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Review assigned project documents, including scope of work, drawings, specifications, vendor list, bill of quantities, etc.
2. Secure the consultant’s preapprovals for shop drawings, coordination drawings, method statements, ITPs, risk assessments, samples, subcontractors prequalification, and materials approvals to avoid delays.
3. Prepare coordination drawings for architectural, concrete, steel, and precast structures, and MEP drawings to ensure seamless execution.
4. Coordinate between architectural layouts, elevations, sections, schedules, BOQ, and structural drawings.
5. Identify and report design conflicts and disputes to the technical manager.
6. Assist and supervise draftsmen in preparing shop and as-built drawings.
7. Prepare inquiry packages for the procurement team and review quotations to create technical and commercial comparison sheets for each item.
8. Attend site coordination and progress meetings to monitor and address project challenges.
9. Liaise between project teams (client, consultant, subcontractor, project managers, and site engineers) to resolve construction difficulties.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in architectural engineering.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar field in UAE.
• Proven experience in technical engineering roles within construction projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, BIM, technical drawings, and documents.
• Experience with design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, BIM, 3D Max, Photoshop, Renders, etc.
• Experience in coordinating with project teams.
• Knowledge of authorities’ requirements (Estidama, ADDC, ADSSC, ADM, ADMCC, Etisalat, Du, ADCD, etc.)
• Fluency in English and Arabic is a must.
