Our client, a private organization based in Abu Dhabi, is urgently looking for an Arabic Legal Assistant. For this role, you will be primarily responsible for providing support to the Legal Counsel, maintaining and organizing files; conducting legal research and drafting of legal documents.

Responsibilities
  • Investigate the facts of a case
  • Conduct research on relevant laws, regulations, and legal articles
  • Organize and present the information of the case
  • Keep information related to cases or transactions in computer databases
  • Write reports to help lawyers prepare for trials
  • Draft correspondence and other documents, such as contracts and mortgages
  • Obtain affidavits and other formal statements that may be used as evidence in court
  • Assist legal counsel/lawyer during trials
  • Prepare for hearings, trials, and corporate meetings
  • Prepare written reports that help legal counsel determine how to handle their cases
  • Help prepare the legal arguments and draft documents to be filed with the court
  • Review legal material for internal use, maintain reference files, conduct research for lawyers, and collect and organize evidence for hearings
  • Prepare trial documents or draft settlement agreements
  • Draft and index documents and prepare presentations
  • Must be familiar with electronic database management and be up to date on the latest software used for electronic discovery (e.g., emails, data, documents, accounting databases, websites)
  • Help lawyers prepare employee contracts, shareholder agreements, stock‑option plans, and companies’ annual financial reports
  • Monitor and review government regulations to ensure that the corporation is aware of new legal requirements
  • Maintain documents received from clients, conduct research for lawyers, and retrieve and organize evidence for depositions and trials
  • Conduct criminal and civil lawsuits, draft legal documents, advise clients on legal rights, and practice other phases of law, including gathering evidence in divorce, civil, criminal, and other cases to formulate defense or initiate legal action
  • Conduct research, interview clients and witnesses, and handle other details in preparation for trial
  • Prepare legal briefs, develop strategy, arguments, and testimony in preparation for presentation of case
  • File briefs with court clerk
  • Represent client in court and before quasi‑judicial or administrative agencies of government
  • Interpret laws, rulings, and regulations for individuals and businesses
  • May draft wills, trusts, transfers of assets, gifts, and other documents
  • May advise corporate clients concerning business transactions involving internal affairs, stockholders, directors, officers, and corporate relations with the general public
  • May supervise and coordinate activities of subordinate legal personnel
  • Deal with issues pertaining to business transactions
  • Draft client agreements, negotiate employment contracts, or write purchase agreements
  • Review company paperwork, particularly contracts, and draft business documents
  • Research, write and edit commercial reports
  • Examine national, international and local laws to identify any regulations they must follow or conflicts that might arise

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in law preferred or 4 years relevant work experience may substitute for each of the four years of college
  • 3 to 5 years previous experience in law firms will be an advantage
