Job summary

A leading agricultural engineering firm seeks an experienced engineer to apply engineering technology to agricultural machinery and systems. Responsibilities include designing machinery components, testing equipment performance, conducting training for farmers, and planning irrigation systems. Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture and at least 5 years of relevant experience. Proficiency in English is required; Arabic is a plus. Job description

Job Purpose

Apply knowledge of engineering technology and biological science to agricultural problems concerned with power and machinery, electrification, structures, soil, water conservation and processing of agricultural products.

Key Accountabilities

• Design agricultural machinery components and equipment, using computer-aided design technology.
• Test agricultural machinery and equipment to ensure adequate performance.
• Provide advice on water quality and issues related to pollution management.
• Conduct on‑job training programs that provide farmers with information that can help them improve agricultural productivity.
• Discuss plans with consultants and other engineers so that they can be evaluated and necessary changes made.
• Plan and direct construction of irrigation, drainage systems for soil and water conservation.
• Design food processing plants and related mechanical systems.
• Prepare reports, sketches, working drawings, specifications, proposals and budgets for proposed fields.
• Design sensing, measuring, recording devices and other instrumentation used to study plant life.

Perform any other duties assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

Bachelors in Engineering/ Science – Agriculture

Minimum years of experience: 5 Years in Similar role.
