Job description

Based in Jebel Ali, the Accounts Assistant will report directly to the Accounts Manager of this large regional retail distribution company. The primary role will be to assist the Accounts manager with the day to day bookkeeping of the organisation and will require a minimum of two years similar experience supported by a Bachelors of Commerce qualification. Prior experience within a retail company is absolutely mandatory and candidates without this experience will NOT be considered.
Key accountabilities will be retail revenue and reporting which will encompass checking daily stores via cash, credit, gift vouchers, credit noted etc. against the daily closing reports in order to ensure that sales are registered correctly; posting adjustment entries in the ERP system, and the generation of periodical retail sales reports in order to satisfy the requirements of the company management as well as the mall management.
General reconciliation for banks, credit cards, staff uniforms and other sub ledger accounts; petty cash; archiving and account finalisation and audit are also part of the remit for the role.

Our client is looking for core competencies in problem solving, the ability to communicate clearly so that expectations and business goals are clearly understood and strong organisational skills with a clear attention to detail.
