Job Summary
The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing end-to-end accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with statutory requirements, and supporting management with financial analysis and controls. The role plays a key part in cost control, budgeting, and financial planning within a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle accounting, including GL, AP, AR, fixed assets, and inventory accounting.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with accounting standards.
- Ensure accurate cost accounting, including product costing, variance analysis, and margin analysis.
- Reconcile bank statements, intercompany accounts, and balance sheet accounts.
- Monitor and analyze manufacturing costs, overheads, and production variances.
- Work closely with production and supply chain teams to ensure accurate inventory valuation.
- Implement and maintain cost control procedures to improve profitability.
- Support pricing decisions through detailed cost and margin analysis.
- Assist in preparing annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
- Analyze financial performance against budget and provide variance explanations.
- Prepare financial models and management reports to support decision‑making.
- Ensure compliance with local laws, tax regulations, and internal policies.
- Coordinate internal and external audits and respond to audit queries.
- Prepare and file VAT, tax returns, and statutory reports on time.
- Maintain proper documentation and accounting records.
- Support ERP/accounting system implementation and enhancements.
- Improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting efficiency.
- Ensure adherence to internal controls and company policies.
- Guide and review work of junior accounting staff.
- Coordinate with banks, auditors, consultants, and regulatory authorities.
- Support management with financial insights and recommendations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 8+ years of experience as an Accountant, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting and inventory management.
- Experience with ERP systems and advanced MS Excel.
- Knowledge of VAT, taxation, and statutory compliance.
- Valid driving license (required).
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
