Accountant - Hospitality & Recruitment (Dual Role)

Location: Motor City, Dubai

About Us

  • A boutique hotel in Scotland with multiple revenue streams (accommodation, weddings & events, restaurant, bar, and café).
  • A recruitment company in the UAE.

We are seeking an Accountant to support both entities, ensuring accurate bookkeeping, reconciliations, payroll, and reporting, while helping to build strong financial processes in two dynamic start-up environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Bookkeeping & Daily Operations
  • Maintain accurate daily bookkeeping in Xero (UK) and UAE accounting systems.
  • Record and reconcile multiple revenue streams (hotel bookings, POS sales, recruitment invoices).
  • Monitor and reconcile petty cash, Vault, Alaan cards, and other payment platforms.
  • Accounts Payable & Receivable
  • Process supplier invoices, staff reimbursements, and payments.
  • Monitor accounts receivable, follow up on overdue invoices, and prepare AR/AP aging reports.
  • Coordinate with management for supplier settlements and client collections.
  • Cash Flow & Bank Management
  • Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations across multiple accounts.
  • Track and allocate cash flow by cost centre (hotel, café, restaurant, shop, recruitment).
  • Assist in liquidity management and forecasting.
  • Payroll & Compliance
  • Manage payroll for both UK (hotel) and UAE (recruitment company) staff.
  • Ensure compliance with UK payroll legislation and UAE WPS requirements.
  • Handle EOSB, allowances, and deductions accurately.
  • Support HR with UAE visa processing and cancellations.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts and cash flow forecasts.
  • Conduct variance analysis (budget vs actuals) and provide commentary.
  • Assist with VAT returns (UK & UAE) and WHT filings.
  • Liaise with auditors and external accountants for annual accounts.
  • Process & Systems Development
  • Improve internal controls and documentation processes.
  • Support integrations between booking platforms (Airbnb, Booking.com, Cloudbeds), POS, and Xero.
  • Streamline reconciliation and reporting processes across both businesses.

About You:

  • Part-qualified or newly qualified (AAT/ACCA/CIMA/ICAS) or equivalent experience.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting practices in both UK and UAE (VAT, WHT, payroll, reconciliations).
  • Hands-on experience with Xero is essential; multi-entity experience is desirable.
  • Detail-oriented, organised, and able to manage parallel responsibilities across two companies.
  • Hospitality or recruitment sector experience is an advantage.
  • Comfortable in fast-paced, start-up environments — adaptable and proactive.
