Job summary
A leading dairy company in Paarl is seeking an experienced Production Manager to oversee daily operations at their award-winning cheese factory. You will lead a team of approximately 60 employees, ensuring production targets are met safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of experience in production management in the food sector and strong leadership skills. This is a full-time position in a dynamic and innovative environment.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years experience in a production management role in dairy or food manufacturing.
- Proven track record of managing teams of 50 people.
- Strong leadership, communication and organizational skills.

- Oversee all aspects of cheese production from milk intake to packaging and dispatch.
- Lead, motivate and develop production staff to achieve operational excellence.
- Ensure full compliance with Health Safety Environmental and Food Quality standards.

The successful candidate will lead a team of approximately 60 employees ensuring that production targets are met safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.
- Oversee all aspects of cheese production from milk intake to packaging and dispatch.
- Lead, motivate and develop production staff to achieve operational excellence.
- Ensure full compliance with Health Safety Environmental and Food Quality standards.
- Manage production planning, resource allocation and workflow to meet delivery schedules.
- Drive continuous improvement, waste reduction and efficiency initiatives.
- Monitor and report on KPIs related to productivity, quality and cost control.
- Collaborate with Maintenance, Quality Assurance and Supply Chain teams.
- Relevant tertiary qualification (e.g. Food Technology, Production Management or Engineering).
- Minimum 5 years experience in a production management role preferably in dairy or food manufacturing.
- Strong leadership, communication and organizational skills.
- Proven track record of managing teams of 50 people.
- Sound understanding of HACCP, ISO and Occupational Health & Safety standards.
Hands-on proactive approach with attention to detail.
