Negotiates and communicates with all stakeholders to achieve optimal alliance product mix and sales goals. Leads the internal collaboration necessary for EV production decision-making, driven by the alignment of all internal working groups involved with the vehicle's development, business strategy, and launch, including working groups external to SOA (i.e. TMNA, Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Kentucky [TMMK], and Toyota Logistics Services [TLS]). Learns Toyota systems and/or processes thoroughly in an effort to become a subject matter expert, as well as evaluates them for potential business application at SBR and Subaru of America, Inc. (SOA).
Core Responsibilities

  • Manages purchase orders in the Vehicle Planning System (VPS) and Toyota ordering systems for SOA and both Independent Distributors. Analyzes monthly vehicle trend insights and provides recommendations that support Regional Distribution and Zone Offices with initial purchase order decisions.
  • Projects sales and production trends to optimize inventory levels of Alliance vehicles. Communicates regularly with SOA leadership on production-related concerns.
  • Integrates with essential departmental teams to determine allocation quantities, with a strategic evaluation of retailer inventory and profitability. Manages the volume of vehicles received by each port and understands how this impacts future purchase orders and Zone/Independent Distributor expectations.
  • Manages and orders Alliance vehicle accessories, both In-Line Accessories (ILA) and Post-Production Options (PPO), based on forecasted allocations. Leads coordination across departments such as Production Planning, Supply Chain, Logistics, Regional Distribution, Accessories Development, and Accessories Planning for successful business outcomes. Serves as the main point of contact for the Sales department on how to plan for, strategize, communicate, and launch ILA for Subaru Corporation (SBR)/SOA.
  • Actively manages vehicle sold orders to ensure that they are properly accounted for and verified within SBR and TMC factory constraints. Develops both short- and long-term sold order strategies to effectively balance wholesale volumes.
  • Collaborates with internal SOA departments such as Sales Operations and Product Management on new model code set-up and maintains areas of the VPS related to purchase orders and model year transitions (this includes model mapping and master item creations).
  • Engages with Vehicle Planning functions such as Target Share and Production Mid-Range Forecasting for Extended Management Committee (EMC). Develops and manages distribution strategies based on the latest regulatory requirements, if applicable.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Ensures the financial impact of planned penetration levels of vehicle accessories for ILA and PPO. Leads collaboration with other SOA departments such as Accessory Planning and Field Operations – Incentives.
  • Assesses supply chain health of each Alliance carline for supply and demand. Leverages knowledge and skills to develop raw data into organized reports/dashboards and presents this information in a coherent and logical manner.
  • Integrates on all organizational electric vehicle (EV) activities.
  • Sustains collaboration with SOA’s EV Strategy department to remain informed of organizational direction with our EV product portfolio. Remains informed on governmental actions and/or regulations that will impact Alliance vehicle ordering and sales.

  • Effective at managing multiple concurrent responsibilities, while applying high analytical skills to support critical and time-sensitive decision-making with some deadlines being external to SBR/SOA. Creativity and insight to manage short- and long-range planning cycles.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret large amounts of quantitative and qualitative data to assemble a clear picture of sales and distribution concerns for upper management. Knowledge of cross-functional departments at Subaru of America (SOA).
  • Strong automotive industry and sales operations knowledge, especially on electric vehicle (EV) regulation and market conditions.
