Job summary

AECOM is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to join our Structural group in Chicago, IL, supporting the Water Business Line with design of new structures and structural forensic work for water treatment plants, commercial, and industrial buildings.

Responsibilities include fieldwork, modeling in RISA 3D/STAAD/REVIT/AutoCAD, and preparing proposals and reports. Travel up to 30% and mentoring of junior staff are expected.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Structural Engineering with 4+ years of relevant experience or equivalent
• Valid Driver's license and motor vehicle records check
• Valid SE license in IL and/or PE in any reciprocating state
• US Citizenship or green card required

Responsibilities

• Performs specific portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.
• Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using field notes, sketches and photographs.
• Works on detailed structural engineering assignments involving hand calculations and modeling in programs listed above.
• Prepares field sketches and reviews building conditions.
• Occasional travel up to 30% is expected.
• Mentors entry-level engineers and works with client presentations.
