Job summary

AECOM is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to join our Structural group supporting our Water Business Line in Chicago, IL, with focus on design of new and forensic structures for water and related facilities.

Responsibilities include data gathering, modeling with software, technical writing, field visits, and occasional travel up to 30%. Ideal candidates will mentor junior engineers and manage tasks within budget and schedule.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Structural Engineering with 4+ years of experience or equivalent.
• Valid IL SE license and/or PE in reciprocating state is required.
• US Citizenship or green card is required.
• Experience with design of water treatment structures and related buildings.

Responsibilities

• Gathers engineering data using field notes, sketches and photos.
• Performs portions of assignments with hand calculations and modeling.
• Uses structural programs to model and analyze structures.
• Contributes to proposals and reports with cost estimates and schedules.
• Performs field reviews and prepares detailed sketches.
