Job summary

AECOM is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to join our Water Business Line in Chicago, IL. The role covers design of new structures and forensic work for water treatment facilities, commercial, and industrial buildings.

You will perform fieldwork, run hand calculations, use software like RISA 3D, STAAD, AutoCAD and REVIT, and mentor junior engineers while delivering projects on schedule and within budget.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Structural Engineering with 4+ years of relevant experience or equivalent.
• Valid Driver's license and motor vehicle records check.
• Valid SE license in the State of Illinois and/or PE in any reciprocating State.
• US Citizenship or green card is required.

Responsibilities

• Performs specific and moderate portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.
• Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using field notes, sketches, and photographs.
• Works on detailed or routine structural engineering assignments involving hand calculations and computer modeling tasks using structural programs (RISA 3D, STAAD 3, Excel Spreadsheet, AutoCAD, REVIT, etc).
• Experience in technical writing of proposals and reports, using reasonable cost estimates and schedules.
• Guides and mentors entry-level engineers.
