Job summary

AECOM is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to join our Structural group to support our Water Business Line in Chicago, IL with experience in design of new structures as well as structural forensic work, related to water treatment plant structures, commercial, and industrial buildings. Duties include but are not limited to: Performs fieldwork to review building conditions and prepare detailed field sketches.

Occasional travel up to 30% is expected.

Qualifications

BA/BS in Structural Engineering plus 4 years of relevant experience.
IL SE license in State and/or PE in reciprocating state.
US Citizenship or green card is required.

Responsibilities

Performs specific and moderate portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.
Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established procedures (field notes, sketches, photographs).
Works on detailed structural engineering assignments involving hand calculations and modeling in programs (RISA 3D, STAAD 3, Excel, AutoCAD, REVIT).
Experience in technical writing of proposals and reports with reasonable cost estimates and schedules.
Performs fieldwork to review building conditions and prepare detailed field sketches.
Occasional out-of-town travel is necessary.
Guides and mentors entry-level engineers.
Independently performs all tasks to complete primary design elements for engineering work.
