Job summary
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN Case Manager for a Monday–Friday day shift assignment in California, with no weekends or on-call. American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN Case Manager for a Monday-Friday day shift position with no weekends or call, requiring CA RN licensure and case management background.
- Case Management department setting within a managed care environment
- Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
- Monday through Friday schedule with no weekends
- No on-call responsibilities required
- Active CA RN license required
- Graduate of an accredited nursing school; BSN preferred
- Minimum 2 years of recent relevant case management experience
- Broad knowledge of health care delivery and case management within a managed care environment
- Comprehensive knowledge of Utilization Review, levels of care, and observation status
- Working knowledge of CMS, Title 22, CHA Consent Manual, CDPH, and TJC regulations affecting case management practice
- Knowledge of post-acute levels of care and associated regulatory compliance requirements
- Awareness of healthcare reimbursement systems (HMO, PPO, PPS, CMS, value-based models) preferred
- General understanding of coding and DRG assignment process preferred
- Strong verbal, written, and negotiation communication skills
- Intermediate computer and technology skills
- AHA or ARC certifications required for any applicable certifications
- 2 supervisor references obtained within the past year required
- Promotes cooperation and collaboration among patients, families, physicians, nurses, and ancillary partners
- Works independently and exercises sound judgment when interacting with physicians, payers, and patients' families
- Demonstrates commitment to service excellence in all patient, family, and employee interactions
- Promotes teamwork and functions effectively within a team-based environment
- Accepts local candidates at the local rate
- Must reside within a 50-mile radius for travel rate eligibility
- Returning employees must have a 1-year separation before returning as a traveler
- Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract
- Only 1 holiday may be requested off per contract, covering New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
- Must be available for lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing
- 7-year work history verification required for all candidates
