Job summary
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med Surg/Stepdown position requiring 2 years of med surg experience and comfort with frequent floating between units.
The 22-bed adult Med Surg Oncology unit (5T) in a hospital setting involves floating between Medsurg, Stepdown, and MS/Tele units with night shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM). A 13-week contract with potential extension is offered.
Qualifications
- Active SC or compact RN license.
- Current BLS certification required.
- Minimum 2 years of med surg experience.
- Stepdown/PCU experience required due to floating expectations.
- Meditech charting experience preferred but not required.
- Community hospital experience preferred.
- Previous charge experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care across Medsurg, Stepdown, and Telemetry units as needed.
- Must be comfortable with high floating frequency between units.
- Floating occurs in accordance with Joint Commission standards, with orientation to new units.
- Candidates must not live within 50 miles of the facility to qualify for travel rate.
- Scrubs not provided; royal blue/white scrub color required.
- First-time travelers are accepted.
