Job summary
American Traveler Staffing Professionals is hiring an experienced Travel RN for a Med/Surg Tele assignment in California. The role requires an active CA RN license and at least five years of RN experience.
You will work nights, 40 hours per week, for a 13-week assignment with lodging and stipends available as part of travel benefits. The position demands proficiency in IV therapy, dysrhythmia interpretation, and Edel charting (Epic).
Qualifications
- Active CA RN license required.
- 5+ years of RN experience required.
- ACLS and BLS certifications required.
- Experience with cardiac telemetry and critical care tasks preferred.
Responsibilities
- Care for Med/Surg Tele patients with 1:5 ratio.
- Perform IV therapy and phlebotomy as needed.
- Maintain isolation precautions and PPE protocols.
- Respond to rapid/Code events as required.

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring 5 years of experience and a CA RN license.
- Cares for patients with Falls, Sepsis, UTI, Pneumonia, COPD Exacerbation, and CHF Exacerbation
- Patient ratio of 1:5
- Epic charting system experience preferred
- Every other weekend required
- On-call as needed
- Active CA RN license required
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
- NIHSS certification preferred
- Minimum 5 years of experience required
- Trauma Level I and II experience preferred
- Skills in IV therapy/phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, and starting/maintaining IVs required
- Experience with port access/management and blood product administration preferred
- Experience interpreting and managing dysrhythmias and using rapid response/code teams preferred
- Experience with heparin protocols preferred
- Experience with ortho trauma, peripheral nerve block catheters, total joint replacement, and traction preferred
- Experience with substance withdrawal management preferred
- Isolation precautions and PPE knowledge required
- Provide care for patients requiring cardiac telemetry, respiratory support, and genitourinary/renal management
- Responsibilities may include chest tube management, oxygen administration, continuous bladder irrigation, and pre/post hemodialysis care
- Must reside within a 50-mile radius to be eligible for the local rate
- Local candidates accepted at the local rate
- Returning employees must have a 1-year separation before returning as a traveler
- Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract
- Only one holiday may be requested off per contract, including New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
- Must be available for lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing
- First-time travelers are not preferred for this position
