Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a skilled Medical Coder to handle complex professional fee coding and facility coding for outpatient and inpatient services. You will apply CPT/HCPCS and ICD-10-CM coding with attention to modifiers and E/M guidelines.

The role requires 3–5 years of multi-specialty experience, strong knowledge of Epic or similar EHR systems, and an active AAPC/AHIMA credential. Remote work option may be available for eligible states.

Qualifications

• Active coding certification from AAPC or AHIMA required.
• 3–5 years of professional fee coding in a multi-specialty environment.
• Experience with Epic or similar EHR systems.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform complex professional fee coding for CPT/HCPCS and ICD-10-CM in office and hospital settings.
• Perform facility coding for simple outpatient encounters and basic inpatient services.
• Ensure coding adheres to official guidelines, CMS, and compliance standards.
• Identify need for clinical queries for documentation clarification.
• Maintain high accuracy and productivity; mentor junior staff as needed.
