Job summary

MV Transportation is seeking an experienced Safety and Training Manager to lead safety and training initiatives across divisions. You will implement programs, supervise drivers, and ensure compliance with EPA, OSHA, FTA, FMCSA, and DOT regulations in a fast-paced transit environment.

The role requires CDL and Non-CDL credentials, strong analytical skills, and the ability to foster a proactive safety culture among operations, safety, and maintenance teams.

Qualifications

• Transit safety experience and knowledge of regulatory requirements.
• Experience in urban/public transit operations, preferably paratransit.
• Leadership experience supervising or training drivers.
• Licenses/certifications for CDL and non-CDL driving.
• National Safety Council Defensive Driving Instructor or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety and training programs, including classroom and behind-the-wheel instruction.
• Ensure drivers meet training requirements and compliance with company and client policies.
• Maintain up-to-date safety manuals, programs, and practices.
• Serve as subject-matter expert on EPA/OSHA, CDL compliance and regulations.
• Oversee background checks and minimum qualifications for hires.
• Analyze safety data, trends, and develop plans to reduce incidents.
• Oversee Drug and Alcohol program and safety incentives.
• Foster a consistent safety culture across locations and departments.
• Coordinate with claims and medical facilities to manage injury cases and recover subrogation.
• Ensure audits by corporate, client, and regulators are completed successfully.
