Job summary

MV Transportation is seeking a Safety and Training Manager to lead safety and training initiatives at the Chatsworth, CA division. Qualifications

• Transit safety experience required.
• Experience in transit, urban public preferred.
• Experience in passenger transportation in current project or similar environment preferred.
• College degree or 5+ years of safety management experience.
• CDS and/or CSP designation preferred.
• Knowledge of FTA, FMCSA, and DOT safety rules.
• Knowledge of corporate safety programs and policies.
• English language proficiency.
• Effective communication with all departments.
• Ability to work independently and objectively.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to delegate tasks and supervise staff.
• Proficient with Windows and MS Office.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft applications.

Responsibilities

• Sets the tone for training compliance for operators.
• Ensures safety manuals and programs are current.
• Resides as the expert in EPA and OSHA, CDL compliance.
• Oversees safety incentives and programs including Safety Points.
• Ensures a consistent safety culture across locations.
• Work with claims to manage liability and workers' comp claims.
• Proactively manage employee injury claims and return to work.
• Oversees audits by corporate, client, state and federal agencies.
• Leads division in safety instruction according to corporate and client specs.
