Job summary

MV Transportation is seeking a hands-on Safety and Training Manager in Dallas to lead classroom and behind-the-wheel training, ensure CDL/OSHA compliance, and drive safety program improvements across the division.

The role requires strong knowledge of regulatory requirements, experience supervising paratransit drivers, and the ability to analyze safety data, oversee drug/alcohol programs, and foster a proactive safety culture among operations, safety, and maintenance teams.

Qualifications

• Transit safety experience.
• Experience working in transit, preferably urban public.
• Paratransit drivers supervision/training experience and CDL/Non-CDL qualification.
• National Safety Council Defensive Driving Instructor or equivalent.
• Knowledge of FTA, FMCSA, and DOT safety rules.
• Knowledge of safety programs and policies.
• English reading/writing/speaking ability.
• Effective communication across departments.
• Independent and objective work style.
• Strong organizational skills and delegation ability.
• Windows-based OS and Microsoft Office familiarity.
• Strong analytical and Microsoft applications skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct and/or delegate classroom and behind-the-wheel training and evaluate drivers.
• Ensure training compliance with company and contract requirements.
• Keep safety manuals and programs current for divisions.
• Subject matter expert in EPA and OSHA, CDL compliance and regulations.
• Verify new hires meet general qualifications including background and DMV checks.
• Utilize safety technology tools; analyze trends and develop preventive plans.
• Oversee Drug and Alcohol program.
• Manage safety incentives and programs and assign Safety Points.
• Foster a consistent safety culture across locations and departments.
• Collaborate with claims to reduce liability and recoup subrogable claims.
• Proactively manage employee injury claims and facilitate light duty returns.
• Ensure audits are completed successfully by corporate, client, and regulators.
• Lead division safety organization for training according to specs.
