Job summary

MICRO CENTER is seeking self-motivated Retail Computer Technicians in a high-energy technology superstore environment. Starting pay is $15.15/hour with productivity incentives potentially raising hourly rates up to $18.15–$35.00.

Responsibilities include service counter consultations, diagnosing devices, BYO computer assembly, and maintaining clear, proactive communication with customers regarding repair status. Strong certifications and customer-service skills are valued.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent with one-year related computer service repair or technical customer service experience strongly preferred.
• CompTIA A+ certification or Apple ACMT and ACiT certifications, or the ability to be certified within 90 days of hire. Apple certifications highly desirable.
• Excellent communication & interpersonal skills with ability to multi-task and adjust priorities.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person consultations and troubleshooting to customers at the service counter on a variety of computers and electronics.
• Recommend service solutions including data backups, anti-virus, warranties, and subscriptions.
• Identify, diagnose, and document hardware or software problems on desktops, laptops, mobiles, TVs, and monitors.
• Assemble custom computers sold by our BYO sales team.
• Maintain familiarity with technical manuals and vendor certifications and stay updated on retail products.
• Maintain a cash till, handle customer transactions, and ensure a clean, organized workspace.
• Provide timely, complete, and accurate information to customers via face-to-face, phone, text, and email about their service event.
