Job summary

MICRO CENTER in Georgia is seeking self-motivated Retail Computer Technicians to assist customers at the service counter and in-store shop. Starting at $15/hour base pay with productivity incentives to raise hourly rates up to $18-$35 plus SPIFFs.

You will diagnose devices, explain service options, and help build repeat customers for life. You’ll spend time diagnosing and repairing devices, updating customers on repair status, and maintaining great service at the counter.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent and related computer service repair experience preferred.
• CompTIA A+ or Apple ACMT/ACiT certifications or ability to obtain within 90 days.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to multi-task.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person consultations and troubleshooting at the service counter for computers and related products.
• Recommend service solutions including data backups, anti-virus, warranties, and subscriptions.
• Identify and document hardware/software issues on desktops, laptops, mobiles, TVs and monitors.
• Assemble custom computers for BYO sales team.
• Utilize manuals and vendor resources and stay current on products and technologies.
• Maintain cash till, handle transactions, and keep department area and inventory organized.
• Provide timely, accurate service event updates to customers via face-to-face, phone, text, and email.
