Job summary

MICRO CENTER is seeking Retail Computer Technicians to provide in-store consultations, diagnose and repair computer devices, and guide customers through service options. Base pay starts at $15/hour with productivity incentives to raise hourly rates toward $18–$35 plus SPIFFs, with uncapped commissions based on performance.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent with related computer service repair or technical customer service experience preferred.
• CompTIA A+ certification or Apple ACMT/ACiT certifications or ability to certify within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person consultations and troubleshooting at the service counter for computers, equipment and store products.
• Recommend service solutions including backups, anti-virus, warranties, and subscriptions.
• Identify, diagnose, and document hardware or software issues on desktops, laptops, phones, TVs and monitors.
• Assemble custom computers sold by the BYO sales team.
• Utilize manuals and vendor certifications while staying current on products and technologies.
• Maintain cash till, handle transactions, keep area clean, and track inventory.
• Communicate repair status to customers via in-person, phone, text and email.
