Job summary

Barrow Brain & Spine in Scottsdale, AZ is seeking a front-desk patient coordinator to support a large neurosurgery practice. You will register new patients, collect insurance information, and prepare charts for physicians.

Daily duties include updating the EMR (AthenaOne), greeting patients, taking vitals, scheduling, and ensuring HIPAA compliance. Prior medical experience and strong communication are essential for success.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience in a medical setting.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize.
• Passionate about creating a superior patient experience.

Responsibilities

• Registers new patients in the EMR prior to scheduling.
• Ensures all notes and reports are available to the physician before arrival.
• Opens chart encounters in AthenaOne and maintains patient records.
• Greet patients, room them, and take vitals for physician review.
• Enter orders, E-Prescribe information, and create visit summaries.
• Schedule follow-up appointments and coordinate care with staff.
• Maintain HIPAA confidentiality and ensure data security.
• Coordinate surgery scheduling with billing and authorizations.
• Provide coverage to other positions as needed.
