Job summary

Barrow Brain and Spine is a physician-owned specialty practice focused in neurosurgery and advanced spine care, serving thousands of patients annually. We seek a care coordinator to handle EMR registration, patient flow, and clerical duties while maintaining confidentiality and delivering excellent patient service.

You will support physicians with accurate records, coordinate appointments, and assist with referrals in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree a plus.
• Experience: 1-2 years in medical setting.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize.
• Passionate about creating a superior patient experience and fostering a culture of excellence.

Responsibilities

• Registers new patients in the EMR prior to scheduling appointments.
• Performs clerical and customer service functions for the physician's office.
• Ensures all initial consultations, notes, lab slips, radiology and pathology reports are available to the physician prior to arrival.
• Opens chart encounters in Athenaone and maintains patient records.
• Greets and rooms patients and takes vitals for physician review.
• Enters orders and E-Prescribe information and creates visit summaries.
• Schedules follow-up appointments and coordinates referrals.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
• Provides coverage to other positions as requested.
• Supports Compliance program and participates in required trainings.
