Job summary

Barrow Brain and Spine is seeking a Care Coordinator to handle clerical and patient-facing duties in a fast-paced neurosurgery practice in Phoenix. You will register new patients, ensure all notes and tests are ready for the physician, and support clinic flow throughout the day.

Strong verbal and written communication, solid organizational skills, and a passion for patient service are essential. A BS degree is a plus, but a high school diploma or GED is required.

Responsibilities

• As a care coordinator you will perform clerical and customer service tasks for the physician's office.
• Registers new patients in the EMR with demographics and insurance details.
• Ensures all initial consultations and reports are available to the physician before patient arrival.
• Opens chart encounters in AthenaOne and maintains patient records.
• Greet patients, room patients, and document vitals for physician review.
• Enter orders, E-Prescribe information, and create clinical visit summaries.
• Schedule follow-up appointments and coordinate referrals to other providers.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and protect patient confidentiality.
• Assist with inventory, supplies, and daily clinic operations.
• Provide coverage to other positions as needed, and participate in compliance training.
