Job summary

Electric Power Systems (EPS) in Wisconsin is seeking a Control Technician I to assist with installation, inspection, and maintenance of control wiring in electrical substations. You’ll learn cable terminations, print reading, and work under supervision to develop foundational skills.

Qualifications

  • Pre-employment drug screen required in this safety-sensitive role.
  • Criminal background check required.
  • Ability to travel and work overtime.
  • Able to climb ladders, stand for extended periods, lift up to 70 lbs.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to safety policies and wear PPE in substation environments.
  • Participate in safety training and daily briefings to maintain hazard awareness.
  • Assist with receiving, staging, and verifying materials against provided lists.
  • Support cable pulling and routing under supervision.
  • Learn wiring diagrams and schematics to complete tasks accurately.
  • Work with senior technicians and engineers to learn techniques.
  • Maintain tools and clean work area daily.
