Job summary

Electric Power Systems is seeking an entry-level Control Technician I to assist with installation, inspection, and maintenance of control wiring systems in substations. You will learn cable installation, terminations, and print reading under direct supervision, with a strong emphasis on safety and quality.

The role supports senior technicians and engineers, offering hands-on training and opportunities to develop foundational skills in a dynamic power industry setting across North America.

Qualifications

  • Pass pre-employment drug screen for safety-sensitive role.
  • Satisfactory criminal background check required.
  • Ability to overtime and travel out of town.
  • Ability to climb ladders, stand long periods, lift up to 70 lbs.
  • Must have valid driver's license and maintain good driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to safety policies and PPE requirements in substation environments.
  • Participate in safety trainings, meetings, and daily briefings.
  • Support materials receiving, staging, and verification against material lists.
  • Assist with cable pulling, routing, and termination under supervision.
  • Learn wiring diagrams and schematics, follow verbal instructions to complete tasks.
  • Support testing activities including megger testing under supervision.
  • Maintain tools and work areas in clean, organized condition.
  • Work with senior technicians to learn proper procedures and techniques.

Skills

Excellent written and verbal沟通 skills

Education

Bachelor's or Associate Degree in Electrical/Electronic technology
Military experience preferred
