Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps member serves as a student success coach and mentor in participating schools, focusing on academic coaching, attendance improvement, and positive behavior. The role includes planning progress, partnering with teachers, and supporting classroom initiatives.

You will receive multi-week training, a bi-weekly living stipend, and benefits via City Year and AmeriCorps programs. Entry-level position with full-time commitment starting summer 2025.

Qualifications

• Experience coaching and mentoring students is a plus.
• Ability to support literacy and math development in diverse learners.
• Comfort collaborating with teachers and school staff.
• Willingness to participate in training and onboarding.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students 1:1 and in small groups.
• Plan and monitor individual student progress and provide targeted support.
• Assist with classroom instruction and in-class student support.
• Help create a positive, engaging, and safe classroom environment.
• Support extended day and after-school programs and family engagement.
