Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps members coach and mentor students to boost academic success and positive school behaviors. Training is provided; you’ll support teachers and school staff throughout the year. The role includes 2–4 weeks of initial training and ongoing collaboration with classrooms.

You will receive a bi-weekly living stipend, plus benefits like health insurance and access to educational awards. Start dates vary by location and program needs.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship or legal permanent residency required
• Be 17–25 by July 1, 2025
• GED or high school diploma, some college, or college degree preferred

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor elementary, middle and/or high school students
• Help students achieve academic success and improve attendance
• Plan and monitor individual student progress with teachers
• Support in-class instruction and small-group activities
