City Year AmeriCorps members coach and mentor students to help them achieve academic success, improve attendance, and develop positive school behaviors. You will plan and monitor individual progress and work with teachers on classroom instruction and student support.

Position is full-time, entry-level, with 2–4 weeks of training at the start of the year, and benefits including health insurance, stipends, and relocation support. City Year AmeriCorps offers programs nationwide.

Qualifications

• No prior experience required; training provided.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are helpful.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor elementary, middle, and/or high school students to support academic success and positive behaviors.
• Plan and monitor individual student progress and collaborate with teachers on classroom instruction and student support.
• Support after-school and enrichment activities and help create an engaging, safe classroom space.
