Job summary

Northampton Community College is seeking a part-time Student Account Representative to work in the Bursar Office. This customer-service role handles student accounts, reviews balances, explains payment plans and refunds, and applies payments to tuition charges.

The position also posts miscellaneous payments, processes mail, answers phones, files, and replies to emails from students, staff, faculty, and external organizations. Schedule is approximately 25 hours per week across four days.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Review account balances and answer student questions.
• Explain payment plans and refunds to students.
• Apply payments to tuition charges and balance cash drawer at end of day.
• Post other payments (parking tickets, club deposits, etc.).
• Process mail, answer phones, file, and respond to emails from students, staff, faculty, and external parties.

This is a customer service position that will deal primarily with handling student accounts which includes: reviewing account balances to answer student questions, answering questions related to payment plans and refunds, applying payments to tuition charges, and balancing the cash drawer at the end of the day. In addition to processing student payments, this position will post other types of payments such as parking tickets, club deposits, and other miscellaneous deposits. Other duties include processing mail, answering phones, filing, and replying to emails with student, staff, faculty, and outside organizations.Requirements: This is a customer-facing position, requiring experience in customer service, and the following skills: computer proficiency, being detail-oriented, and having the ability to multitask.Schedule: Approximately 25 hours per week/4 days per week
