A distinguished liberal arts college in Pennsylvania is seeking a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor in Environmental Social Sciences to begin in August 2026. The candidate will develop a robust research agenda and teach courses that enhance community-based learning. Ideal applicants should have a focus on comparative issues intersecting the environment and governance and demonstrate a commitment to undergraduate education. A completed Ph.D. by the start date is required.
The Bi-College Department of Environmental Studies at Bryn Mawr College and Haverford College invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Environmental Social Sciences, to begin August 1, 2026. The successful candidate will be expected to have a robust research agenda and offer courses that complement the current curriculum and contribute to the department’s community-based learning requirements. We welcome candidates whose scholarship and teaching are comparative in scope and address issues at the intersection of the environment and governance, such as public policy, environmental activism, or environmental/climate justice. We particularly encourage candidates whose primary geographic focus lies outside the United States. Candidates must show demonstrated promise in research and a serious commitment to undergraduate teaching at all levels of the curriculum. Prior experience teaching in an interdisciplinary Environmental Studies program is desirable. Candidates must have completed all requirements for the Ph.D. by the start date.
