Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a structural engineer to apply knowledge of materials, structural analysis, steel design, and reinforced concrete design across power transmission projects. You will work within an engineering and design team to deliver calculations, designs, and specifications while interfacing with clients and coordinating with field teams.

The role supports hybrid work arrangements, with three days in the office and two remote days, and includes relocation support depending on

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master in Structural/Civil Engineering with strong materials behavior and design knowledge.
• Ability to communicate with clients with appropriate technical detail.
• Willingness to visit client sites for scoping meetings and site verification.
• Experience writing and supporting documentation for structural calculations.
• Ability to complete assignments within budget and schedule with accuracy.
• Familiarity with design codes such as IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI 318.

Responsibilities

• Investigate, troubleshoot, and solve a wide range of structural engineering issues.
• Perform structural analysis and detailed design of steel and concrete members, connections, platforms, and foundations.
• Develop integrated designs and supporting calculations for planned projects.
• Interface with clients to communicate technical information clearly.
• Prepare technical specifications for structural materials.
• Review work completed by others, including calculations and drawings.
• Travel to client/vendor offices for design reviews and field verification.
